To You a Million Times Over

February 26 - April 3, 2021

St. Louis, MO — Monaco is pleased to present To You a Million Times Over,  featuring work by Justin Solomon, organized by Visitor Assembly (Alyssa Knowling and Marcus Stabenow) in the Monaco Project Gallery.  The exhibition opens February 26, 2021 and will run through April 3, 2021.

Justin Mikhail Solomon is an emerging image maker currently based in St. Louis, Missouri. Justin uses image making not only as a way to reconstruct ideas associated with photography as a medium, but also as a means of examining and adding to the overall idea of what it means to be Black in America. Conceptually, each work functions as an analysis of the internal struggles that are born from external networks of family, friendship and society at large.

Justin creates work that is highly experimental, often using common photography techniques in their most extreme form. He believes that experimentation and exaggeration within a practical medium like photography are imperative in shifting our imagination of the subjects that are portrayed within the image. To you a million time over extends and expands Justin’s practice, emphasizing the power of the image itself as a rhetorical device.
